October 2025 membership board update
The October membership board meeting took place on Wednesday 29 October via Microsoft Teams, chaired by Jo Keen. The agenda included campaign planning, community celebrations, and reflections on a record-breaking annual general meeting.
The meeting was attended by 23 members, including staff representatives, community members, and managers across Navigo. The meeting was confirmed as quorate, with no declarations of interest raised.

Membership updates
Julie Reah, Head of Corporate Affairs, confirmed:

35 new staff members and 10 new community members joined

Total membership now stands at 1,045 All applications were approved.
Campaigns and community action

The "See Me First" campaign launched successfully at the AGM and was formally closed on the tracker

A new action was added to centralise community activity information for better signposting at the community hub. NEL Connect and local authority booklets will be explored

The board voiced strong support for the white ribbon campaign to end male violence against women and girls. A formal decision was deferred until Julie could join
Sponsorship decisions

A new sponsorship tracker was shared to improve transparency and decision-making

The board approved:

£180 + VAT for Grimsby Town Women’s FC coach jacket sponsorship (if still available)

£200 toward the remembrance day lunch, following a positive impact last year

Staff and community updates

Richard Rudd, Community Rep, shared that 31 rep action items have now been closed, with five ongoing

The team reflected on Navigo’s support for staff at Lindsey Oil Refinery, praised as a strong example of coordinated care and compassion

Black History Month was celebrated with a community event featuring youth speakers and the health gospel choir

Community hub and festive planning

Weekly Tuesday sessions at Tukes Hub continue to welcome new members with tea, chat, and information. Find information about future sessions at our events calendar.

The community Christmas party is set for 9 December. Ideas are welcome

Plans are underway to revive "your voice" sessions and trial a craft stall in November

Suggestions were made to improve visibility of local activities, including contacting People’s Park Bowls Club and joining NEL Connect’s mailing list
AGM reflections
Julie shared feedback from 74 attendees:

Corporate services highlights

Finance: £172,000 surplus reported, with agency staffing costs expected to reduce by January

Performance: 98.1 percent of service users rated care as good or very good; 96.3 percent felt involved in decisions

Communications: 53,499 website visits, 125 all-user emails sent, and standout social posts reached up to 23,000 views. The new CAMS-care UK website launched.

Workplan: Updates on CRM, induction, peer support roles, and projects including the low-stimulus therapy room, sensory garden, and perinatal buggy fitness
Garden centre update
Alasdair Everest-Ford, commerical manager, reported a £30,000 profit increase at Grimsby Garden Centre, strong customer satisfaction, and new initiatives like "too good to go" to reduce food waste. Preparations are underway for the 10-year celebration on Saturday 1 November 2026.
