NAViGO scooped the Social Investment Award at this year's SEYH Awards for our innovative older people’s mental health complex plans.
The plans will see a two phase modernisation of the former Grange and Manor care home in Grimsby.
The investment allows for the expansion and relocation of existing services to create a modern new complex which will offer enhanced nursing and specialist residential care.
It will also provide support to individuals with complex needs including dementia and memory problems, while also providing support to individuals moving on from older peoples’ acute and long-term inpatient units.
The two-phase modernisation will first see the conversion of the three-storey Manor property, creating a new inpatient facility that includes 30 ensuite residential rooms; gym; state-of-the art sensory room; communal lounge, cinema and activity rooms; podiatry, beautician, hairdresser suites; therapy suites; overnight facilities for family members and training and staff facilities.
It is a major investment in the continued enhancement of local older people’s mental health services.
Social enterprises from across the Yorkshire and Humber region celebrated at the annual awards.
The awards are organised by SEYH who support existing and developing social enterprises in the Yorkshire and Humberside area, who are driven to tackle important social and environmental issues.
The awards recognise and celebrate these organisations and showcase the breadth of work being done in the social enterprise sector in the region.
