A trio of local organisations are joining forces to support individuals with diabetes.
NAViGO ,Grimsby Town Football Club and the Care Plus Group have come together to offer an innovative new support programme for people diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.
Unlike the majority of support, the free programme focuses on diabetes management alongside both psychological input and physical activity.
Held at Blundell Park, home of Grimsby Town, individuals will be supported through the 12-week programme, which will equip them with much more than managing their diabetes.
Individuals can expect to receive a triad of support for their physical and mental wellbeing all under one roof in addition to a further three-month follow up at the end of the programme.
NAViGO psychological wellbeing practitioner Yvonne Willetts said: “Set your goals high and let’s relegate diabetes together.”
Diabetes is a lifelong condition that causes a person’s blood sugar level to become too high.
The programme is open to anyone over the age of 16 who is diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes.
To participate in the programme, individuals need to register online with our Open Minds service.
