
Nursing team
Our nurses support individuals to meet their agreed goals for rehabilitation and secure ongoing placement so that we treat people in the least restrictive environment.
Nurses provide specialist advice to inform assessments including risk assessment, care planning, treatment and review.
Individuals are allocated a named nurse for the duration of their stay on Brocklesby Lodge.
Nursing staff are present Monday – Friday between the hours of 9am and 5pm in the community rehabilitation service as a step-down from Brocklesby Lodge.
Social workers
Working within the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act, our social workers support with social factors in people’s lives, aiding recovery and reducing the risk of relapse.
From support and guidance with relationships, housing, volunteering and employment, to advocating for the individuals using our service; the role of a social worker is pivotal to the aim of recovery and independence.
Health and wellbeing coach
We recognise that mental health and wellbeing are causative, with one affecting the other. Internal research shows that participating in health and wellbeing activities improves confidence, self-esteem, sleep and motivation which all have a positive impact on our mental health.
Our health and wellbeing coach works as part of the therapy team, supporting and motivating individuals to engage in wellbeing activities within and outside of Navigo.
Assistant practitioner and assistant psychology practitioner
The assistant practitioners are qualified to at least foundation degree level in a subject appropriate to the service. They work under the supervision of the senior practitioners.
They support the implementation of therapeutic interventions, activities, medications and assessing needs, as well as being involved in multidisciplinary reviews.
Occupational therapist and therapy team
The occupational therapist and therapy team empower individuals to develop their skills through meaningful occupations. This helps individuals manage their own risks, prevent relapse and reduce reoffending behaviours, supporting them to sustain reintegration into the community.
The occupational therapist uses holistic assessments to identify the individual’s current strengths and areas of need and to find the most appropriate support.
Consultant psychiatrists
Our consultant psychiatrists oversee the management of all individuals under their remit. They provide expert knowledge and understanding of the rehabilitation needs of each individual.
They support the collaborative working between individuals and care teams and act as Responsible Medical Officer ensuring the quality of the medical care.
Psychology
Psychological services in Brocklesby Lodge support the multidisciplinary team with a psychologically-informed approach to assessments and formulation, along with the provision of therapeutic interventions and consultation.
Additional support in assessment and management of risk in patients with a history of offending behaviour is also available through our forensic psychology provision.
Forensic team
The Community Forensic Team coordinate the care of individuals who present a risk to others related to their mental disorder. Individuals are normally referred to the forensic team once they have been placed into secure care on Section 37(41) of the Mental Health Act by the Ministry of Justice.
Expert by Experience
The Expert by Experience role provides insight into first-hand experience of mental ill-health and recovery and guides the team in their approach encouraging reflection on practices.
Support worker team
Our support workers are vital to the rehab service, delivering on the support and care plans formulated by the clinical team.
Through developing effective and appropriate relationships, leading on groups and activities and championing various service areas, our support workers motivate, encourage and support individuals towards their goals.
