Helping families connect
A woman reached out to the Gardiner Hill Foundation following a recommendation from a Navigo staff member. We’ll call her Mary to keep her privacy.
Navigo services were supporting Mary during a very difficult and upsetting time. Sadly, two of her adult children were undergoing treatment for cancer.
Mary wanted to spend time with her children, supporting them and taking care of them. She wanted to be able to visit her child who didn’t live close by, but the cost of travel was concerning her.
Added financial pressures when already facing such difficult circumstances can cause even further upset. The Gardiner Hill Foundation were pleased to be able to award a grant to cover the cost of travel for Mary to visit her child. We hope that this helps to alleviate some of the financial worries so that Mary can focus on her time with her family.
The Gardiner Hill Foundation is Navigo’s chosen charity. It supports people who are receiving support from either Navigo or Nurtrio with grants which promote independence, boost wellbeing or enhance their employment prospects – ultimately improving their mental health.
