"I would like to apply to become your staff representative for another term. I have worked for NAVIGO for seven years supporting volunteers, students and employability placements, and spent two years as a rep. With 21 years in the NHS, I have a wealth of experience to offer you, most of all to listen to you.

I would be honoured for the opportunity to be representative and YOUR VOICE, to put forward YOUR ideas and feedback in support of you, our staff.

Tell us about you and your experience.

"I have two years experience as a staff representative championing your voice and striving for equality across the membership. With 21 years in the NHS, I have a wealth of experience to offer you in a variety of community roles, including public health. But most of all I am passionate about listening to you and what you need and expect from the membership.

"I am a mum to four sons, a carer for my parents, a pet owner to my lovely fur babies and a chair for my community preschool and out of school club. I give back as they supported me in my time of need and it's a role I cherish in supporting my local community and children within it."

If you are elected as a representative, what do you want to achieve?

"It has been quite a unique year for us all and I know moving forward there will be more challenges ahead.

"I would like to develop a policy and package of care for staff who face the challenge of working and being someone's carer. Staff may not see themselves as a carer but as someone's loved one and that's OK, I want to work with you to ensure you have the support you need.

"The membership has been in place for ten years and I would like to listen to your views on how it could be developed to best serve you, its members. Ensuring everyone is heard from our LGBT and minority groups too, and those who feel disadvantaged.

 

How do you intend to engage with the membership to ensure their voices are heard?

"I will listen to you where and when is best for you to talk. I will be at the end of a phone, hold drop ins, hold zooms calls,  drop me an email. Whatever works best for staff, I will do my utmost to be available for you."
