Navigo were part of the pilot project to explore the use of Community Mental Health Navigators, who support the non-clinical needs of people experiencing mental illness.
Community Mental Health Navigators (CMHNs) reduce capacity on GPs, mental health nurses and other frontline healthcare professionals.
The CMHN Pilot was delivered by Mental Health UK and a partnership of four charities: Rethink Mental Illness, Hafal/Adferiad Recovery, Mindwise and Support in Mind/Change Mental Health.
Navigo and the Meridian Primary Care Network (PCN) was the pilot site in England.
As a result of the pilot project, Navigo extended the CMHNs to cover all four of the PCNs and continued to fund the post after the conclusion of the pilot project.
