As owners of Grimsby Garden Centre, NAViGO know more than most how outdoor pursuits, nature and green-fingered activity can benefit health and wellbeing.

We use the centre to get people from disadvantaged backgrounds and individuals with mental health difficulties back into work by offering them skills, training and employment

opportunities.

Plus we also provide over 5500 hours of horticultural therapy a year, on average.

Now we’re looking for service users interested in getting involved in a dedicated nature-based study this spring.

‘Green Social Prescribing’ is a study under York University in partnership with HEY Smile Foundation. Undertaking the study in North East Lincolnshire, NAViGO will be working alongside them to find out more about how nature-based activities can benefit health and wellbeing.

Attending Grimsby Garden Centre one day a week for eight to ten weeks, you’ll learn about growing, care and grounds maintenance techniques as well as how to plant, pot and grow an active plant nursery.

You’ll be supported by the NAViGO team to complete several feedback surveys along the way.
