A big day at the Great Grimsby 10K

A huge thank you to everyone who ran or volunteered for the Navigo's official charity, Gardiner Hill Foundation at the 2026 Great Grimsby 10K this weekend.

A brilliant 13 runners including Navigo and Nurtrio staff, as well as service users and family members took on the course to raise money for the Gardiner Hill Foundation. Together, they’ve already raised over £1,400, with more donations still on the way.

That total alone helps the Gardiner Hill Foundation fund at least five individual grants, each worth up to £250, giving the people we work with practical support that improves their independence and wellbeing - from funding essential items like a washing machine or fitness items that give someone coping mechanisms.

About the Gardiner Hill Foundation

The Gardiner Hill Foundation was created to support people receiving mental health services in North East Lincolnshire. The grants it provides offer practical, meaningful help that boosts independence, confidence and wellbeing. That might mean funding essential household items like a washing machine, providing fitness equipment that supports someone’s coping strategies, or helping people access opportunities that aid their recovery.

Alongside individual grants, the Foundation also funds larger projects that create meaningful, long‑term benefits for service users — improving mental health, wellbeing, confidence and connection across our community.

Some recent projects have included:

Perinatal buggy fitness classes

This project supports the physical and mental health of new mums and their babies by extending buggy‑fitness sessions into autumn and winter. Funding covers an affordable indoor venue so classes can run year‑round, offering gentle postnatal exercise, baby bonding, social connection and confidence‑building in a supportive space.

EIP Holistic Wellbeing Hub

The Early Intervention in Psychosis team is transforming their allotment into a year‑round wellbeing hub with a sustainable summerhouse. The new structure will provide shelter in colder months, allowing gardening, mindfulness, yoga, art, crochet and social activities to continue whatever the weather.

Sensory garden

Designed to support people living with dementia, this project will create a safe, accessible sensory garden filled with textures, colours, scents and sounds. The space will offer therapeutic outdoor activity, calm, and meaningful engagement with nature. Read about the successful launch of the sensory garden here.
