Open Minds provides care and support for people who are experiencing common mental health problems such as stress, depression and anxiety.
Anyone over 16 can access the service and Open Minds encourages self-referral meaning that anyone can walk into our Grimsby branch and be assessed, meaning people can get quick access to NAViGO services.
Open Minds offers a wide choice of information, groups and one-to-one appointments that can be accessed when you are referred or self-refer to our service.
We also offer individual appointments at Immingham Resource Centre by request.
We encourage people to make their own choices at Open Minds. For example, we offer Cognitive Behavioural Therapy as a choice of group or one-to-one therapy for depression, anxiety, self-esteem, assertiveness and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. We can also offer individual sessions of short-term Cognitive Behavioural Therapy according to individual need.
Open Minds also has employment specialists to provide practical support for people experiencing depression or anxiety where it is impacting on their ability to work.
You may be referred to Open Minds by your GP or another professional. Following an assessment you can book onto activities.
You can also refer yourself: simply visit the Grimsby branch and an appointment will be made for you.
Open Minds services are open to the public and people are welcome to drop in to find out more about the service. Just ask.
